英语常用句式汇总

  1. play an important role in…为固定搭配,意为“在……中起重要作用”。

  2. 第一次提到的单数可数名词前面用不定冠词a或an,这一名词再次出现时则要用定冠词the

  3. except that意为“除了……以外”,such that意为“使得,结果是”,in that意为“因为”,so that意为“以便于,为了”

  4. would rather do sth. than do sth.为固定搭配,意为“宁愿做……而不愿做……”

  5. person和know是逻辑上的主谓关系,to know作person的后置定语 He is the only person to know the truth.

  9. may表示事实上的可能或允许;must表示要求或肯定的推测;should表示建议或根据一般情况的推测;could表示较小的可能性。根据句子中的关键词an effective answer可知,后面表示在一般情况下的推测。

  11. 当陈述句部分有no, never, nobody, little等否定词时,疑问部分用肯定形式。在there be句型中,疑问部分主语仍用there

  12. be responsible for通常指“对……负责任”,后接名词或动名词;而be responsible to通常指“对某人负责”,后加人或物,或接动词原形,表示“对做某事负有责任”。

  13. in a field意为“在某一领域”

  14. much作副词时,常用来修饰形容词的比较级;that作副词时,相当于so,强调所指的某一程度;enough作副词时,一般用在所修饰的形容词或副词之后;too作副词时,强调事物的程度已超出某范围,让人难以应付。

  15. shall用于第二和第三人称的陈述句中,表示命令. 许诺等,语气很强。can表示可能性,will表将来,need意为需要,都不适用

  16. turned up意为“出现;调大”,turned down意为“拒绝;关小”,turned out意为“结果是”,turned in意为“归还”

  17. would rather后面的宾语从句中,now意为“现在”,表示与现在事实相反的愿望,因此应用过去式

  18. in my view意为“在我看来”,为固定短语

  19. over表示“在……期间”,let’s discuss the matter over tea and cake.

  20. rather than意为“而不是”;more than意为“超过,不仅”;other than意为“除了”;less than意为“少于”
